Financial and Strategic Advisory Services               

  • Director, Corporate Development, Samsung Electronics, North America – Internal investment banking department sourcing, evaluating, structuring, closing and supervising acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances.
  • Senior Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions Services, Deloitte & Touche – Advised on deals ranging from $1 million to $800 million and for turnaround, troubled or bankrupt company engagements.
  • Vice President, Investment Banking, Van Kasper & Company – senior technology banker in Northern California.   Advised on IPO’s, mergers and acquisitions and private placements in electronics, software, biotechnology and other areas.
  • Served as financial advisor for over 50 merger and acquisition engagements for transactions with value in excess of $1 Billion.  Transactions included:
    • Samsung sale of Integrated Telecom Technology to PMC Sierra ($45 million)
    • Mitsui & Co. acquisition of Wilsey Foods company ($64 million)
    • Otsuka Pharmaceutical purchase of Crystal Geyser Water Company ($24 million)
    • Itochu purchase of Multiquip ($37 million)
    • Management Buyout of ITC Entertainment company ($120 million)
    • Sumitomo Metals purchase of National Magnetics  ($18 million)
    • Otsuka Pharmaceutical purchase of Pharmavite ($56 million)

 

Investment Experience                   

  • Managing Director, Cambridge/Samsung Partners LLC – venture capital firm organized as a partnership between Samsung and a technology incubator.  Portfolio increased over 5x in value in first three years.
  • Organized, invested in and/or brokered over 20 commercial real estate transactions in multi-residential and retail properties.

 

Entrepreneurial Experience                                                            

  • Founder and initial President/CEO of Hollywood Partners.com Inc., a publicly traded early stage company.  Authored and implemented the initial business plan involving 20 employees and contractors.  Company value increased from $12 to over $50 million during my tenure.

 

Board/Advisory/Consulting Experience                                                     

  • Experienced director on multiple boards, including: Integrated Telecom Technology, Inc. (acquired by PMC Sierra, Inc.), N*Able Technologies (acquired by Wave Systems, Inc.), Brainstorm Technologies.
  • Consulted to companies and financiers regarding early stage investments in software and other technology companies.
  • Consulted to troubled or reorganizing companies or their creditors in the technology, specialty finance, entertainment, restaurant, retail, and other industries.
