Paula Groves-Hawthrone

Paula Groves-Hawthorne has over 15 years of private equity and investment experience and has helped generate over $85 million in returns to investors.  Ms. Groves-Hawthorne is currently a founding partner of 4Front Partners, a firm specializing in venture capital and private equity, helping small businesses raise capital, obtain new clients, and sell companies.

Prior to 4Front, Ms. Groves-Hawthorne was co-founding partner of Axxon Capital a fund based in Boston, MA with $54 million under management.   Launched in 2000, Ms. Groves-Hawthorne led the investment in technology oriented transactions all of which have exited.   One portfolio company recently sold in October of 2007 for in excess of $100 million.   She sold her fund interest in 2004 and moved to California’s Bay Area.

Axxon Capital was a spin-out fund from Triumph Capital where Ms. Groves-Hawthorne served as a principal and partner since 1992.  At Triumph, she helped complete more than $115 million of private equity investments.  There, she helped invest two geographically targeted funds, and learned how to be successful when investing within a geographically defined region. She also helped the firm’s private assets grow from $50 million in 1993 to more than $800 million in 1999.

As an industry veteran, Ms. Groves-Hawthorne experience includes working with start-up companies, firms interested in acquisition strategies and businesses seeking growth and buy-out financing. Having appeared on CNNfn and The Money Gang, she frequently speaks about private equity.

Ms. Groves-Hawthorne has served as board member for several nonprofit organizations, including the Little Jim Club of San Francisco, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Historic Boston, Revision House (Board President), the New England Aquarium and the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts (Treasurer).
